New laws state that you must be on the Gas Safe Register to carry out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. Boiler Service UK place great importance on our customers safety and as such all of our heating engineers are gas safe registered (formerly known as corgi registered).

All gas safe registered engineers should carry with them a gas safe card at all times. Check if a gas engineer or business is registered by entering their ID number in the 'Check an engineer' service at the gas safe website.

Gas Safety Check

For a gas safety check or a service, essential safety checks are done to make sure gas fittings and appliances are safe to use. These checks include;

• checking the flue or chimney to make sure the products of combustion (fumes) are being safely removed to outside.
• checking there is an adequate supply of fresh air so the gas burns properly.
• checking the appliance is burning the gas properly.
• checking all safety devices are working properly and shutting the appliance off if a fault occurs.

It gives me great pleasure to write this letter to express our gratitude to the plumber who visited our house on the 2nd of September. My wife said that the engineer was very helpful, explained what he had done and advised her how to avoid problems with our water heating in future. Last night we again lost pressure downstairs. My wife carried out the engineer’s instructions and the problem (air bubbles in the pipes we think) was solved. At a time when no one seems to have any pride in their work, it is a pleasure to be able to write and thank someone who has. Well done and thank you for the service.
